Nobel Prize winner and Heath Old Boy back in town

 

Nobel Prize winner Dr Oliver Smithies will be visiting Halifax on July 5th 2010. He will be unveiling a plaque at his old primary school - Copley.

The 84 year old, who now lives in the US, compliments his early education in Halifax for his prize winning accolade stating,

"It was my teachers at Heath who set me on this course. They were inspiring and had a big influence on my life. I'd always wanted to be an inventor and it was they who showed me I could."
